Lamprocapnos spectabilis (bleeding heart) is a member of the poppy family (papaveraceae) , native to Asia. It has been "naturalized" in North America. The verdict seems to be out as to whether it should be considered invasive. However, the plant shown here is actually "wild bleeding heart" (dicentra Eximia), another member of the poppy family; it is native to North America. We are safe.
