55. The setting sun burnishes the outlines of sheep and their lambs at the farm of my friends John del Re and Kelly Macklin. It took three tries to get this picture printed with acceptable values, color, and contrast. Then I had troubles with the matting and framing. I had just about given up when, during the reception, I voiced my disappointment to my sister Noelie. She encouraged me to take the time to frame it then and there. Despite my best efforts, I ended up drilling a hole right through the frame. If you want to buy this painting—I mean photograph—I'll be happy to mend the frame for you. After all that work and frustration, I'm so glad I did manage to get it into my show!
